Head of Chambers at OHLC is Muhammad Osman A. Hadi, a practicing Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He read law and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in the year 2001, and went on to further complete his post-graduate LL.M (Legum Magister) Law Degree from the University of Kent, United Kingdom (Graduating with Merit). Returning to Pakistan in the year 2004 Osman commenced his legal practice as an Associate Lawyer at the Law Offices of Mr. Khalid Anwer, a prominent & highly respected Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan & former Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights of Pakistan, where he was involved in a broad range of litigation matters. In the year 2008 Osman was asked to join the Chambers of Mr. Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan & former Minister of State best known for his part in drafting of the Constitution of Pakistan, whom Osman closely assisted for four (4) years on many civil, commercial and constitutional disputes, whilst also working independently on several cases.
Building on his vast experience in Constitutional and Civil Litigation, Osman further developed additional experience and expertise in other areas of litigation such as admiralty & maritime law, white collar crime, financial, land disputes, taxation and other commercial Litigation over the years.
In the year 2018 Osman was appointed Assistant Attorney General for Pakistan vide a Federal Notification, where he represented the Federal Government on various legal constitutional, commercial, tax & other civil matters before the Higher Courts, as well as having been given the branch-responsibility of being the Federal Government’s Special Prosecutor in matters of extreme importance concerning the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.
Osman is also fortunate to be one of the younger lawyers to already have his name reported in several High Court cases through various Pakistani law journals (2020 PTD 281; 2019 CLC 1732; 2017 PTD 1; PLD 2016 Sindh 398; 2014 PTD 824; 2014 SBLR 1260; 2013 CLD 1568; 2013 CLD 558; 2012 CLD 1611; 2011 YLR 2413; PLD 2010 Karachi 261; 2009 MLD 1145; 2009 MLD 982 & PLD 2009 Karachi 227) as well as having obtained his Supreme Court License at the relatively young age of 37 years.
Having worked closely with highly prominent lawyers of Pakistan as well as having held the position of Assistant Attorney General, Osman has been actively involved in several high profile litigation cases. He currently handles litigation & dispute resolution arising from constitutional, civil, corporate, admiralty & maritime, taxation, banking, commercial, energy, family, intellectual property, and land disputes; as well as certain white-collar / corporate crime cases.
Osman has aided not-for-profit institutions; has previously taught law & has served as an Ambassador for Kent Law School. He occasionally writes and contributes to the Express Tribune daily English Newspaper on legal-politico issues.
